FCEP is excited to announce that we are now accepting submissions for our EMpulse Fall 2024 edition! We welcome contributions from emergency medicine professionals that highlight key issues, stories, and updates within the field. Whether you have research findings, case studies, or personal experiences to share, this is your chance to feature your work in our annual magazine. Help us showcase the innovations and challenges that shape emergency medicine today.

Submissions are open to all EM professionals. The deadline to submit is October 4, 2024!

Save the date for FCEP’s November Meetings and Open House Reception

Please mark your calendars for the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) Committee and Joint FCEP/FEMF Board of Directors meetings on Nov. 12, 2024. We invite you to join us to stay informed and help shape the future of emergency medicine in Florida. The committee meetings will be hosted virtually, while the Joint FCEP-FEMF Board of Directors meeting will be held in person. After the meetings, join us for FCEP & FEMF’s Open House as we debut our new headquarters at 400 N. Wymore Road in Winter Park, Florida! Discover our newly renovated space and connect with fellow professionals within the emergency medicine field.

FCEP installs Todd L. Slesinger, MD, FACEP FCCM, FCCP as 52nd President

Todd L. Slesinger, MD, FACEP FCCM, FCCP was installed as the FCEP’s 52nd President on July 25th during the annual meeting in Miami. Among many things, Dr. Slesinger works as Program Director of Residency in EM for HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. He has a long track record of leadership and advocacy on behalf of the emergency medicine profession at the state level and nationally. Other FCEP officers joining Dr. Slesinger for 2024-25 are President-Elect Saundra Jackson, MD, FACEP; Vice President Blake Buchanan, MD; Secretary/Treasurer Shayne Gue, MD, FACEP, FAAEM; and Immediate Past President Jordan Celeste, MD, FACEP.

The FCEP Board welcomed four new directors for the 2024-27 term as elected by the membership: Kyle Gerakopoulos, MD, MBA, FACEP; Eliot Goldner, MD, MBA, FACEP; Sara Kirby, MD; and Brandy Milstead-Hollingsworth, MD. FCEP also extends deep appreciation and gratitude to these directors for their service on the Board: Damian Caraballo, MD, FACEP; Latha Ganti, MD, FACEP; Stephen Viel, MD, MBA, FACEP; Nicole Vuong, MD
